MY favorite Nirvana song are All Apologies,Lithium,You Know You're Right, and Mtv's unplugged was one of the biggest thing on tv since Ed Sullivan had the Beatles on. You Know You're Right is kinda haunting if you think about it.You seem to hear Kurt's emotional breaking down and the music video seems to show that. The song wrap up the band saying that You Know You're Right. You can read about his suicide www.cobaincase.com/ I think he was better than John Lennon people forget that john had paul and they wrote together.

To each his own. I never liked Nirvana, and even with Cobain gone...I still don't. They just never did anything for me,and most songs got overplayed.

They just never did anything for me,and most songs got overplayed. same here. never got into them - i like Lithium, Come as You are - they're decent songs. Lithium especially, its my fave. I have the Unplugged session on video and yeah its good and it has a certain atmosphere about it, but i still dont rate the band that highly. can't deny the impact they had on a generation though

What would the Nirvana fans here say to the argument that they are as famous now only because of kurt cobain's death?
I don't know, i think they seemed to be pretty big after that unplugged session but not that huge. death is the best way to get recognition in the music biz i think.

I prefer Nirvana to the Foo FIghters cos Cobain was a better front man than Dave Grohl will ever be. My favourite songs are probably Polly and Something In The Way. They definatly get more recognition because of Cobains death because he died when they were at the top. They didnt have chance to fall from grace.

the greatest punk rock album of all time and the best single ever recorded.
i knew kurt was close to death months before because he spelt it out in big letters!
what a talent he was.
i wanted to slap his fucking head.
i remember worrying before the unplugged set hoping that they would do a good job at it!
fuck me! what a set they did!
blinding.
what kills me is this.
the best was yet to come. he hadnt even hit his peak!
fucking wanker! still mad at him for killing himself.

you really think he was able to top nevermind?? arguably the music would have been different but i doubt whether he could regain Nm's commercial success

no, i really think that he was going to do something fresh going by the mtv unplugged and the demo tracks that are kicking about the net.
who cares if it was'nt as commercial as nevermind.
still, we shall never know now!
footnote.
kurt was preparing for a hunting trip to the rockies with fellow bandmembers of nirvana.
kurt cobain forgot to check the chamber of his gun while cleaning it with wd40.
his finger slipped on the slippery lubricant and the gun went off inflicting a fatal headwound to the troubled rockstar.
courtney love shall be up in court looking for damages from the makers of wd40 next month!
we wish her luck. hanous bitch!!
oh, and wd40 has a thousand uses but cleaning guns is not advisable.

to be fair Oasis were missing their lead vocalist and however good Noel is, some songs just don't sound right in his voice!

i was really looking forward to oasis unpluged.
i was hoping for a response to nirvanas triumph and was really looking forward to it.
sadly, liam blew it and poor old noel had to step in at the last minute to save face.
we can only wonder about what could have been.
nirvana - 1 oasis - 0
still, i dont think they could have beat nirvanas classic set.

agree, coz besides noels crappy singing the whole setup was a bad idea. that sort of big band sound with all them orchstral elements. except for masterplan theres no other (oasis)acoustic song that fits in that kind of sound.
i mean, look at classix such as DYWBAS, TMA (DM b sides) or TT and MG (WTSMG?).. they dont work with violins etc cobain's chosen the perfect atmo for his songs.

hey, dont forget that liam was booing him as he sang.
noel said that he was hanging out there dying and his little brother was up in the balcony slagging him off. he was most pissed off about that.
it could have been a great night if liam had have been on lead vocals.
a bit sad really.

If they did the gig now it would be better.
For a start there's Gem and Andy Bell...but Liam's also behaving like a grown up nowadays!
