Very difficult for me - but I go for the Simpsons, cause I grew up with them, and have seen every episode - although the new ones aren't as good as the old one!

both shows have become shit lately but the simpsons still had like 13-14 fantastic seasons, the simpsons are part of history now, they really are a classic. so imo south park can't even be said in the same sentence with the simpsons

I used to love the Simpsons when I was about eight, since I turned twelve I've realised that most of the time, it's not that funny. However there's no denying it's a classic show. Futurama was better; thankfully they're making a new series.
South Park never had me laughing much. Constant swearing and mindless violence gets boring after a while - if I want to watch something controversial, I'll stick on Family Guy.

south park by far
lisa simpson is probably the most unfunny boring character of any comedy show.
Its not a laugh a minute show which i think south park and family guy are.
anything that pushes the barrier of taboos gets my vote.

If you enjoy potty humour (which Im guilty of) then South Park takes the cake.
The Simpsons really shouldn't even be compared to South Park because its an institution on its own.

Ive hated the simpsons all my life....its not even funny, lisa is boring, marge is a waste of space, barts predictable and homers just unrealistically shite. South Park is what seperates the men from the boys as far as cartoons go how can anyone say one of them yellow freaks is funnier than Cartman

South Park takes the piss out of everything, has ridiculed way more current affairs and Cartman is so politically incorrect that he does outclass Homer as funniest character of a comedy show.

Has to be South Park, only cartoon that constantily has me in tears of laughter, just one joke can make a episode classic!

The Simpsons is brilliant and def an institution. its better for more drama and character-led comedy. some of the older episodes are so perfect
but south park is my fave at the moment - it does take the piss out of current affairs so well and not in a self-righteous way that most shows do.
was watching a later episode the other day where the kids build a ladder to heaven to supposedly see kenny who finally died for good. in the end the whole country rallies round them in support, including the army who start a race with japan to make it to heaven.
it then turns into a piss take of the iraq conflict when american intelligence gets evidence of saddam hussein living in heaven building WMDs and disguising them as clouds (cue pisstake of colin powells big UN speech), resulting in america wanting to bomb heaven
And just last night they showed the episode where saddam got sent to heaven after his lover, satan, got sick of him ;D
i dont know any other show that comes up with such mental stories but that do actually have a basis in current affairs/social attitudes
some episodes are hit and miss but overall its a great series. And from my experience, people who say its just about fart jokes and violence are the ones who just saw 1 or 2 of the early episodes years ago and have no clue what its actually like now

I think Simpsons are a classic, but i never seemed to find them funny. South park is definetly more funnier, and they bag the rich and the famous.Simpsons are too conservative.
