hockey is MY sport. in fact, as a little piece of trivia, today, may 24, 2004, is the 10th anniversary of stephane matteau's overtime wraparound goal vs. the new jersey devils in game 7 to take the rangers to the finals. i was at that game, when my parents had season tickets. you should have seen that crowd, one of the greatest feelings in the world.
anyways, calgary in 6. i just think that kiprusoff is a hotter goalie right now than khabibulin. however, the matchup to watch is jarome iginla vs. martin st. louis.
the best story in my opinion is tampa captain dave andreychuk, who in his i think 25th year in the nhl, is in the stanley cup finals for the first time ever (two teams he was on, 2001 colorado and 1993 l.a. reached game 7 of the conference finals).
this is a good one this year. no boring devils traps anymore!

Tampa will probably take it. Calgary keeps getting lucky bounces and their luck has to run out soon. It is sort of uninteresting though since there are no big teams involved.

just found this, this was the night after the flames won their series to go to the finals, perfect reason why the flames should win the cup ;D www.flamesgirls.com/

It is sort of uninteresting though since there are no big teams involved. thats why it is interesting! I love it! the nhl has never been played so well in years, this is by far the most exciting playoffs in a long long time. Calgary is a kickass team, they have the greatest player in the nhl with iginla, he scores, he hits, he fights, and he makes some unbelievable plays, and then tbay has richards who is an awesome play maker himself. I cant wait to watch the game tonight.

stephenn, don't forget martin st. louis, who nearly single handedly brought the lightning there in the first place.

you have to remember Stephenn, anything not involving the leafs to a leafs fan is uninteresting. We're a spoiled bunch.
meanwhile... Andreychuk is a dinosaur - all it takes is one hit and he'll be out for good. Don't know how someone so slow has stuck around for so long. Looks like Calgary will take the first game. Hopefully Lecavalier and St. Louis can do something better next game.

Even tho they knocked the canucks out I gotta say the Flames.. The cup needs to return to Canada where it belongs. Hardly anyone in the states give a sh*t about hockey. GO FLAMES

Don't know how someone so slow has stuck around for so long. what about ray bourque, my boy mark messier, and gordie howe, who in i think 1998 played in an ahl game (detroit vipers). how old was he? 70 something? he played over 25 seasons in the nhl. unbelievable.

Being from Edmonton (just above Cal) I need to cheer for Alberta, even though the teams are huge rivals. I wouldn't mind seeing The Lightning win though.

looks like tampa has nicely deflated calgary. meh, i expected calgary to lose that one, atleast calgary still managed to beat the crap out of tampa calgary will take the next game at home with ease

it'll be an interesting game 3.
if the flames played better defense, they wouldn't have to rely just on iginla and kiprusoff. there will definitely be some bad blood on the ice, especially after tampa's roy tripped kiprusoff, starting chris simon (former ranger!).
it could go either way, but if tampa plays the way they're playing, they're going to ease right to winning it all.

calgary won. expect calgary to win game 4 as well, as the altitude changes are very big for tampa. tampa's altitude is 50 feet over sea level, while calgary is in the mountains. shortness of breath= bad play, no stamina. they tire out very early in the 1st period. i expect calgary to win 4-1 in game 4. by the way, look for iginla to be in the middle of things as well as tampa's #33 andre roy.

Tampa got outplayed tonight but still won. I think they'll take it from here.

calgary is in the mountains. ;D good one, calgary is close to mountains, it is not in the mountains, its an hour drive to mountains, it may be a higher elevation than tampa is but its definitely nothing that would matter.

its gonna have to be Tampa in 7 now... which seems highly unlikely at this point. Either team could have won game 5.

yes either team could have won it, too bad calgary destroyed them though. Tampa was lucky to egtit to ot, calgary badly outplayed them

mape, you're right. i think calgary will find a way to get out of their finals home game slump and win in front of their home crowd.

I don't think its going back to Tampa. Calgary has all the luck on their side this year.
Might also be the last time we see don cherry

this overtime is great. that shot that they keep looking at looks like it went over the line but if they did review it they probably would have said it was kicked in.
better load up on the salty snacks cause the intermission is almost over.
